DELETE YOUR ACCOUNT

You have the right to request deletion of your SafeLanka account and all associated personal data. Once deleted, your account, crime reports, fine payment history, and personal information will be permanently removed from our systems.

When your account deletion request is processed, the following data will be permanently removed:

• Account Information: Name, email address, phone number, and National Identity Card (NIC) number.
• Crime Reports: All crime reports submitted by you, including descriptions, media, and associated evidence.
• Fine Payment History: Records of traffic fine payments and transaction history.
• AI Chat History: All conversations with our AI legal assistant, including your queries and generated responses.
• Location Data: All stored GPS coordinates and location history associated with your account.

Certain data may be retained even after account deletion due to legal obligations:

• Payment Records: Financial transaction records are retained for 7 years as required by Sri Lankan financial law.
• Active Investigation Reports: Crime reports that are part of active police investigations may be retained until the investigation is concluded, as required by law.

To request deletion of your account, please follow these steps:

• Step 1: Send an email to teamsafelanka@gmail.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request - SafeLanka".
• Step 2: Include your registered email address and phone number in the body of the email so we can verify your identity.
• Step 3: We will process your request within 30 days and send a confirmation email once your account and data have been permanently deleted.

You can also delete your account directly from the SafeLanka mobile app under Profile → Settings → Delete Account.
